Laptop trackpad is generally damaged from drops, objects landing on it or over-enthusiastic use. Sometimes, an unresponsive trackpad can be due to an electrical fault.
The first thing we do is test the laptop to make sure it is only the trackpad is the only fault.
We then proceed to strip the laptop down so we can remove the old trackpad. We clean as we go to get rid of any dust or dirt that may have got into the casing.
A new trackpad is installed and checked to make sure that it is working well.
We then build the laptop back up and send it down to our test bench where further tests are carried out.
