What causes laptop keyboard faults and damage?
Laptop keyboards are generally damaged from drops, objects landing on them or over-enthusiastic use. Sometimes, an unresponsive keyboard can be due to an electrical fault.
How do we repair laptop keyboards?
The first thing we do is test the laptop to make sure it is only the keyboard is the only fault.
We then proceed to strip the laptop down so we can remove the old keyboard or faulty keys. We clean as we go to get rid of any dust or dirt that may have got into the casing.
A new keyboard or keys are installed and checked to make sure that the entire keyboard is working well. We then build the laptop back up and send it down to our test bench where further tests are carried out.
