What causes the Nintendo Wii U Gamepad screen fault?
The most common problem that we see is accidental damage. Heavy items being dropped on to the touch screen of the Gamepad can crack it. Sometimes it can be through natural wear and tear. Repeated use can damage the top layer of the digitizer which can affect the responsiveness of the touch screen.
If the touch screen is damaged, you may find some of the buttons stop working too. This is normal and the buttons will start working again after replacing the touchscreen digitizer.
How do we repair the Gamepad screen?
The first thing we do before any repair is test the Gamepad to confirm the fault. There is no way to repair the touch screen other than replacing it. We then have to strip the unit down so we can fit and seal a new screen and test it out. The Gamepad then goes to our testing bench where we test all repairs prior to dispatch.
