What causes the Nintendo Switch Lite Charging Port fault?
The main reason we see Nintendo Switch Lite with charging port failures coming in are caused by accidental damage. If the USB C cable isn't inserted perfectly straight, it can damage the port.
Sometimes it can damage the connector on the dock too. Also, if the console was in use when the port was damaged, it can take out chips on the motherboard at the same time. If additional repairs are required, we will always get in touch to see if you would like to go ahead.
How do we repair the Nintendo Switch Lite Charging Port?
The first thing we do before any repair is test the console to confirm the fault. We clean out any dust as we go. We then proceed to open the Nintendo Switch to gain access to the internals.
We inspect the internal parts to confirm the fault lies with the USB C charging port. The ports are soldered to the logic board of the Nintendo Switch Lite so we carefully de-solder the old port, and replace it with a new one. We will test the Nintendo Switch Lite a number of times on our testing bench prior to releasing it for dispatch.
