The internal Power Supply Units or PSU have a thermal cut off switch in them that can become faulty and too sensitive so they cut off during normal use. We have had PS3 Super Slim consoles sent in after a power surge that has caused damage to the PSU too causing the PS3 to have no power.
How do we repair the PS3 Super Slim?
As with all repairs we first test the PS3 Super Slim console to confirm the fault. Once we establish that it is the PSU at fault, we will dismantle the PS3 and swap the PSU. We then test the console before reassembling it. Once the PS3 is fully rebuilt we take it to our saturation test bench where all consoles are tested for a minimum of 4 hours prior to dispatch.
