The most common problem that we see is accidental damage. If the charging cable is yanked out it can cause damage to the internal parts of the port.
Dirt and dust can also build up inside the port and cause the contacts to not work as they should.
If the port looks ok but doesn't charge or connect to the computer, we recommend trying a different cable just to rule it out as being at fault.
The first thing we do before any repair is test the iPod Nano 7 to confirm the fault. We then open the iPod and proceed to swap the faulty port. If the housing is dented we shall try to straighten it out as much as possible. We then seal the iPod back up and test all functions before sending it down to our test bench where it is tested further prior to being released for dispatch.
