The most common problem is accidental damage. The hard drives in iPod Classic's are similar to normal hard drives you find in PC's or laptops. They are physical drives which spin and are read by a head. Impacts during use can cause the head to make contact with the discs and cause damage.
This repair option swaps the original hard drive for a solid state drive which offers better stability and faster performance.
The first thing we do before any repair is test the iPod classic to confirm the fault. It is possible to get the iPod to perform a SMART scan of its hard drive. This will give an indication on whether the data has become corrupt, or the drive itself is damaged. We can go on to swap the hard drive for the 256GB SSD.
Once swapped we test the iPod before dispatching it back to our customer.
