Batteries in all devices have a shelf life. We see battery issues in devices from around 2 years old onwards. They only have so many charging cycles before you will notice a difference in its performance.
Some updates from Apple have been blamed for exccessive power useage so we would recommend checking online for any sorftware related issues that may be causing the fault before booking in a repair. You can always give us a call and we will be able to tell you if there are any current issues with iOS updates.
The first thing we do before any repair is test the iPad to check the fault. We will then proceed to open the iPad to replace the battery. We only ever use original batteries as some 3rd party batteries can cause problems. We have to take the screen off to gain access so if there are any cracks in the screen it will need to be replaced too at an additional cost.
We need to dismantel the iPad as the battery is adheared to the inside of the back plate. We then swap it for a new battery and reasseble.
The iPad then gets put through to our test bench where its charge and durability is tested before releasing it for dispatch.
