Batteries in all devices have a shelf life. We see battery issues in devices from around 2 years old onwards. They only have so many charging cycles before you will notice a difference in its performance.
The use of unofficial chargers have been reported to cause issues with batteries, particularly in car chargers. We do not recommend using unofficial 3rd party chargers.
Some updates from Apple have been blamed for excessive power usage so we would recommend checking online for any software related issues that may be causing the fault before booking in a repair. You can always give us a call and we will be able to tell you if there are any current issues with iOS updates.
How do we repair the iPad Mini battery?
The first thing we do before any repair is test the iPad Mini 6 to check the fault. We will then proceed to open the iPad to replace the battery. We have to take the screen off to gain access so if there are any cracks in the screen it will need to be replaced too at an additional cost.
We need to dismantle the iPad as the battery is adhered to the inside of the back plate. We then swap it for a new battery and reassemble.
The iPad then gets put through to our test bench where its charge and durability is tested before releasing it for dispatch.
