A video games console is a machine primarily designed for consumers to play video games at home. It outputs a visual image, usually to a television screen. There have also been a number of popular handheld video game devices, namely the Nintendo Gameboy, the Nintendo Wii U and the Sony PSP.

Games Consoles are what we started off specialising in. Mike and Dan, the business owners used to work for Game/GameStation repair centre until it was closed and moved, making them redundant. The formed Gamer-Tech in 2010 repairing consoles for the local area. Within 6 months repairs were carried out on a national scale and have since started repairing most other popular consumer gadgets.

    Sony Playstation

    Playstation is a series of games consoles first introduced in 1995. It consists of:

    • The PlayStation
    • The PlayStation 2, released in 2000
    • The PlayStation 3, released in 2006 
    • The PlayStation 4, released in 2013

    Playstation repairs are our most common console repair. 

    The most common PlayStation faults we see are:

    1. GPU / Overheating faults. Known as the YLOD (Yellow Light of Death in PS3 consoles) and BLOD (Blue Light of Death on PS4 consoles)
    2. Disc read issues. Normally caused by a faulty laser
    3. Drive eject and accept issues - drive mechanism problems
    4. Hard drive and update failures
    5. HDMI port damage

    2. "Open Tray" disc read laser issues

    Nintendo is the world's largest video game company. Founded in 1889, the brand has become synonymous with colourful characters and fun games. Major successes include the GameBoy series of handheld gaming devices, the DS and 3DS, Wii and Wii U.
